Why buy a gold bar

A gold bar is the simplest way to own physical gold: you pay almost only for the metal, and the spread between the selling and buyback price is smaller than with jewellery or collector coins. The larger the bar, the lower the price per gram.

Investment gold is exempt from VAT in Serbia, so no VAT is added to the price of a bar.

Producers and certificates

Argor-Heraeus and Valcambi are Swiss refiners with LBMA Good Delivery accreditation, and Münze Österreich is the Austrian state mint. Every bar comes in sealed packaging with a certificate and a unique serial number, which is recorded at purchase.

Choosing a weight

First-time buyers usually choose 5 g, 10 g or 20 g bars: small enough to sell piece by piece later, with a better price per gram than a 1 g bar. 50 g and 100 g bars have the lowest price per gram and suit larger investments.

Gold bar FAQ

What does a gold bar cost today?

The price is calculated from the current exchange gold price, converted to dinars at the EUR middle rate, plus the producer's and dealer's margin. Each bar's current price is shown above and changes during the day; once you add a bar to the cart, the price is locked for 5 minutes.

Is VAT charged on gold bars?

No. Investment gold, including 999.9 fine bars, is exempt from VAT in Serbia.

Can I sell the bar back later?

Yes. We buy back investment gold at our Hadži Ruvimova 10 branch, at a price also based on the exchange gold price. Keep the original packaging and certificate.

Where can I buy a gold bar in Novi Sad?

At the Menjačnice GAGA branch at Hadži Ruvimova 10, or online on this page with in-branch pickup or delivery.
